CAS(E) this Sketch 69...Hello Sunshine

I want to thank the ladies at CAS(E) this Sketch for choosing my  card as the winner of last week's challenge...you thrilled me to no end...I am so honored!!
As soon as I saw this week's sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch, I went searching through all my stamps and dies to see if I had one big, concentric shaped something that I could cut in half (that's how I was seeing the sketch)...I found  a recently purchased Hero Arts chrysanthemum die and thought...PERFECT...
Then I had to think color....I decided that yellow with a black sentiment would be perfect, but didn't want just one yellow for the flower, so I used three.  Scraps!!  I used my My Favorite Things circle dies and die cut 3 different yellow circle/rings and adhered them together on typing paper and then die cut (I now use typing paper, because I have found that the thickness when die cutting heavyweight paper PLUS another layer of even lightweight paper can be difficult)...
This is an intricate die, so had to use my metal plate adaptor for a clean and thorough cut.  I cut the flower in 1/2...a little less than 1/2 for each 1/2... made the flower look round rather than oval by cutting out some of the middle.  Layered on 2 more die cuts and adhered them around a stamped and embossed Lawn Fawn sentiment.  A flower and sunshine all rolled into one:)!!...
You could change the color and sentiment for different occasions...FUN!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Less is More 163...I Love You

Oops....I missed the challenge:(...I'm a bit too late...well here's my card, anyway:)!!
I used my love of rainbows and embossing paste to make a card for  Less is More  where the challenge this week is to mask or stencil.
My background was masked AND a stencil...do I get extra credit for using both?!  FUN...
I used strips of rainbow colored paper (very thin strips) adhered to some thin white paper and die cut this sentiment from Penny Black.  I layered it 4 times for depth with glossy accents.  I used a stencil from Simon Says Stamp with hearts and lines for my background border.  I masked off just two rows of hearts and used some translucent embossing paste to make a barely seen border for the sentiment.  Here, you can see it a bit better...

The inside was a must for my card, a sentiment from a much loved Simon Says Stamp set...
Hope you have an amazing weekend!! Hugs!! Lisa

Balloons

I was planning on making my card for the Less is More challenge this week where the challenge is to mask or stencil, but didn't feel my card was clean and simple enough for the challenge...so will try again with another card.  This card, like the last card I posted, wasTarget inspired...this time by a gift bag...
I used a Simon Says Stamp AND Penny Black balloon dies.  I die cut each color twice and layered for depth.  The background is made from sponging with a diy stencil made with a Papertrey Ink Chevron die and a piece of acetate(although the pic I'm showing is when I thought of making the card the "long" way instead of the tall way.  I made a second stencil that was die cut just like the die, for my card...just showing you what the acetate will look like)...

I added floss to each balloon and added an Avery Elle sentiment stamped with versamark/white embossed on vellum wrapped around the card and some enamel dots.
Hope you have a great weekend!! Hugs!! Lisa

CAS(E) this Sketch! #68...Floral Thanks

This sketch this week at CAS(E) this Sketch had me thinking outside the box...ok the oval(it IS called a challenge, though, right?!), I went a bit outside my usual bent for literal interpretation!!  Here's my card and the sketch...

I used some flower dies  and sentiment from Paper Smooches, the leaves are a Simon Says Stamp die.
The oval is a Spellbinders petite oval from the large set.  The card's paper is from a Lawn Fawn paper pack...LOVE this paper...and this pattern and color are so cool!!  The colors were a Target wrapping paper inspiration...I am loving to get inspiration at Target:)!!   Thank you ladies at CAS(E) this Sketch for another wonderful sketch:)!!  Hugs!! Lisa

EDITED 3/22***  SO thrilled and honored to have had my card chosen as the winner of this week's challenge...
thank you so much, ladies...you have made me smile, big time:)!!!

Balloon Card

I thought it would be cool to take the largest Simon Says Stamp balloon die and make a card with it...
Cut strips of different colored papers and adhered them to a piece of typing paper that was covered with adhesive.  I then die cut the stars and the sentiment(which I layered twice), and layered the striped balloon over a couple more cut out balloons for heft and depth...
I had tried to use a stamped sentiment, but a layered die cut was the way to go with all the strips of paper. I used another die cut balloon, scored at the top, to make the back of the card, adhering to the front balloon at the fold.  Added twine and done...what fun!!  Hugs to you this Sunny Sunday:)!!  Lisa

Reverse Confetti March Color Challenge

Reverse Confetti is having their monthly color challenge over at the Reverse Confetti Blog, here is my card and the colors for this month's challenge...

I used the new March release stamps and dies from the Reverse Confetti set Petals and Posies.  I also used a sentiment from the new set, Beautiful Banners.  I used the Confetti Cuts Love Note dies for the frame and the set's heart dies embossed on the card.  I layered the flowers and their middles, hand cut out and popped up the frame with a solid scalloped frame underneath it.
A close up of the embossing on the card...

Hope you will check out the Reverse Confetti Blog for more inspiration and to join the challenge:)!!

Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
