Danish Hearts

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!  I am still blessed to have my daughter and son-in-law with us from Nashville, so my craft room is "occupado", but I made a couple cards just before they got here that I can show you:)!  The new Danish Hearts dies from Simon Says Stamp make for some pretty checkered patterned hearts (never heard of OR saw these hearts before this die, but LOVE them:)!!)...
I used two shades of pink to make the first card.  What is so cool about this die is that it cuts the paper into the strips to make these really cool hearts!  I used textured paper for the hearts and popped them all up on a textured card...

The second one, I cut strips of paper, adhered them to a piece of copy paper and die cut the danish heart pieces to give THIS Danish heart a very different look than most Danish hearts (you know me and rainbows!!)...
I textured the heart by running the whole heart through my die cutter with an impression plate.  I used white embossing paste and gave the card a background of hearts using a new Simon Says Stamp stencil, and used the same sentiment as the first card, breaking it into two sections by masking and stamping in between the embossing pasted hearts...
I will be back with more cards before the New Year, and to show you what I got for Christmas....but for the next few days, going to enjoy having my kids with me:)!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Circles

I am so enamored with the Simon Says Stamp Circle Frame die...I made a couple cards, simply changing the paper colors, textures and sentiment to get two different looking cards...
This first one, I used textured reds, grays and black along with a layered glossy accented "thanks".  The white frames are layered three times on each card.
The second one, I used bold, bright colors to make a birthday card...
I could see this being made with pastel colors, black and white, baby colors...oh yeah, the possibilities are enormous!!
It has been a hard weekend...we put our beloved Lucy to sleep early Saturday morning...she was 15 years old.  We gave her freedom from a body that was so old, it didn't work any more.   Although I was never the biggest animal lover in my house (we bought her for our children), my family called Lucy my shadow, she almost never left my side and followed me EVERYWHERE...to the very end, despite the fact that her back legs stopped working.  She was a loving, devoted, sweet dog, and we are missing her very much...never thought it would be this hard, or I would cry this much...  I love you, Lucy!! (yes, I named her after the show:)!)...
On a ride to the ice cream shop (she got a doggie cup!)

Decorated Branch Die...Rainbow and Red

I used the fun new die from Simon Says Stamp's Die-cember release, Decorated Branch, and made a couple cards with a couple different looks...you know me and rainbows:):)...
The first one, I left the branch and strings with bows all white, the only color being the hearts.  It took 3 different Paper Smooches stamp sets to make the sentiment, but together, they said exactly what I had wanted them to say:)!  I layered the branch and each of the hearts 3 times.
Tor the second one, I die cut the  branch in brown, layered and then die cut the strings and bows in metallic silver, cut out, and adhered to the layered brown branch.  I die cut the hearts in red, only, layered, and used glossy accents to give the hearts a bit of a shine...
The sentiment is from Stampabilities...I masked the "love" and stamped that word in red while the rest of the sentiment was stamped in dark chocolate.  The die is soooo cool...also comes with little boxes for gifts...great for birthdays or special gift giving occasions, but LOVE these hanging hearts!!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Rainbow Thanks

Ok...have to say...Christmas got away from me this year!  It's one week from Christmas and I made no Christmas tags, no pumpkin rolls (my holiday staple), no lights on the outside of my house (candles in the windows will have to do), no decorations to speak of on the inside of my house, besides my tree, which FELL DOWN yesterday afternoon (a few broken ornaments...thankful not a whole lot more!!), and remains in it's stand BARE!  I know, sad, right?!!  My husband asked me last night what I was going to do with the tree...I said, "Too soon!"   He suggested some tinsel and a disco ball shining on the tree...hmm...sounds GREAT to me:)!!!  I think with my kids being in town for several days after Thanksgiving, which being the 27th was already less than a month from Christmas, and then my sister's arrival 3 days later...we turned the whole house upside down and inside out for a week...there has not been a lot of "festive making" time!  I am loving watching Christmas movies, but the "doing" part of this season has escaped me.  All that said, I have moved on from Christmas cards  and have a Thank You card made with a fun (the font and design make me happy!!) die from Poppy Stamps to share with you today...
Cut 5/8" strips of paper in the five colors, adhered them to copy paper, and die cut.  Layered the die cut with 3 layers of white, adhered to an embossed stitched card.  Added enamel dots!  Hope YOUR Christmas preparations are going better than mine, but bottom line...I WILL have joy, no matter how my house looks or doesn't look, or what gets done or doesn't get done...it's all about celebrating the birth of our Lord and being able to spend time with family...THAT makes this season sweet!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Garden Stems Card

I think the Simon Says Stamp Garden Stems die is so pretty!  The die is a row of stems with add-on flowers...all in a tag:)!  I used the die cut flowery tag and made this card...
I layered the stems and tag outline 3 times and added the flowers (layered  twice) with tiny glue dots.  The centers of the flowers were made with Enamel Accents.  I die cut the blue and added it to the empty spaces of the green die cut.  I also outlined and cut the tag with white paper with a scissor, so I would have a solid piece to adhere the outline and blue pieces to, I then popped up the entire tag on the stitch embossed card (LOVE those stitched die:)!!!)...love that the leaves have detail, too...

The sentiment is from a retired Simon stamp set Petal Pieces, but I've included the pic, although the link wont work...so sorry!!  Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa

Stitched Squares

I had the Simon Stitched Square dies and the Surely Stitched dies on my desk, and made another card with theses two sets of dies...
I LOVE stitched dies!!...AND I LOVE that these Stitched Square dies come in sizes small enough to make a card with a diverse assortment of square sizes!!  I used the smallest three dies in 5 different colors, layered each twice and played around with  the design until getting one I thought worked for the placement of the heart and sentiment.  I die cut the heart from the center of the "sort of center" square and stamped the sentiment in the bottom corner and clear embossed.  OK...this was so much FUN!!                                                                                                                          Thanks for visiting me today!! Hugs!! Lisa
